I specialize in showing people how to build their own website using free and open source content management systems. Sure, I can build your website for you if you like, but my true pleasure, is in showing others how to build and update it themselves. I get the pleasure of watching someone learn the new, interesting and powerful skill of publishing content on their website, and they get the pleasure of spending less money and time than they otherwise would if they had to pay someone else. I can help you! I offer workshops as well as individual training sessions on Joomla! or Wordpress, in your office or mine. I earned an Honours degree in English (U of A) and a Master of Publishing degree (SFU). Before and since then, I have spent a lifetime working and training in the publishing industry in Alberta including on marketing projects for many of Alberta’s major magazines: AlbertaViews, Legacy Magazine, LawNow and the Edmontonians. My first project after graduation, many years ago, was designing the successful loyalty program for Audreys Books. I understand marketing and bill myself as a corporate and social media expert, when I am not learning Joomla or Wordpress, or working on my own websites. I am a member of the Get Publishing Communications Society, the Edmonton Arts Council and the Writers Guild of Alberta. Joomla!
